Frequently Asked Questions

If you have QUESTIONS… hopefully we can provide the ANSWERS!!!

What can you expect with a Corporate Housing America apartment? CHA apartments are modest and simply furnished to accommodate the needs of the traveling public. We are not fancy, but our fully furnished apartments are clean, comfortable and affordable. Let’s make one thing very clear…. We are not the Hilton Hotel and our apartments are not extravagant in any way.

What are the weekly rates? Our rates depend on several variables… size and location are the primary factors. We offer apartments as small as a studio up to 3 bedroom apartments in Portland, Beaverton and Oregon City. Not all size options are available at each location.

Do you require a security deposit?

Yes. $800 - fully refundable, providing the apartment is left clean and there are no damages or missing items.

Are there any fees? Yes, we require a one-time booking fee of $50 and a cleaning fee of $100.

What’s included with the apartment? Our apartments are all inclusive for the most part. Utilities, cable TV, internet access, towels, linens, dishes, pots & pans and furnishings are all included.

What is not included in the apartment? You will find a starter supply of paper towels and toilet paper, Other than that, we do not include any consumables.

What is the minimum stay? Minimum stays vary by location and property. Typically, our minimum stay is one week. During peak season, some locations require a minimum 30 night stay. As always, the longer the stay, the better the rate… Our typical stays are 2-3 months.

Can you accommodate a small crew of co-workers? Select apartments can be set up with two twin beds in each bedroom to accommodate a crew of 4 workers. This request will require advanced preparation and there may be a nominal fee for this service.

Are utilities included? Are there taxes? What about hidden costs?  WOW, this is a long one….There are no taxes or hidden costs involved. We try to be as upfront and transparent as possible. To keep our rates as affordable as possible, we DO have a monthly power/utility allowance of $100. Occasionally a guest goes over this amount by a small amount. If it is just a slight overage, we let it slide. (It is NOT a source of income for us and we hate charging for overages). In the mild climate of Oregon, there is usually no need to go over this amount in terms of heating and cooling the apartment so the real overages are caused by negligence i.e. by leaving the air conditioning, heaters or appliances on when leaving the apartment or not reporting a sink leaking/toilet running and incurring a huge water bill -that sort of thing. Overages are also caused by excessive heating and cooling. The apartment doesn’t have to be like an oven in the winter or an iceberg in the summer. Moderation is always advisable.

How do I proceed in reserve an apartment? Give us a call or follow any “Make a Reservation” link on our site. You will find simple instructions to easily navigate the process. Once you have read the terms and conditions and provided the required information, we can process the reservation fairly quickly and you can generally check in that day, if needed. Once you have submitted your request (including all signatures and documentation), CHA will process the following charges to confirm a reservation:

Refundable Deposit

Booking Fee

Cleaning Fee

Pet Fee (if applicable)

Payment for the first week (or the prepayment option selected)

(If you have requested additional options or upgrades, those costs will be processed as well)

How will I know if the reservation has been confirmed? Once the photo ID and credit card are verified for identity and security purposes, the initial charges will be processed on the credit card. If everything is approved, a confirmation number will be email to the email address of the cardholder.

What if I don’t know how long I will need to stay? We always suggest that you make your reservation for the length of time that you absolutely know you will need the apartment. Then, extend your stay as needed. We ask that you let us know as soon as you can so we can make the appropriate adjustments with our upcoming clients and cleaning crew. There are some advantages and disadvantages to this situation and determining your length of stay.

Advantages:

You have the flexibility of extending your stay as needed.

Disadvantage:

All extensions are subject to availability. CHA is only committed to the time frame you indicate on your contract and will be offering the apartment to future guests as of that date. While we do our best to shuffle as much as we can to accommodate extensions, during our peak season, they are nearly impossible to do.

Do you allow pets? Yes, we offer pet friendly apartments with a non-refundable pet fee of $150. The apartments that are set aside depend on availability and unfortunately limits the apartment options/choices available to pet owners. Click for Breed and weight restrictions

Can I have a guest stay with me? Of course… as long as you don’t exceed the allowed number of occupants in the apartment. The only stipulation is if another person occupies apartment for more than a week, you must notify us and provide additional information about them.

How many people can stay in the unit? Below are the guidelines for occupancy.

Our studio can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 small child (or a similar variation)

Our one bedroom can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 small child (or a similar variation)

Our two bedroom apartments can accommodate Up to 4 Adults and 1 child or 2 adults and 3 small children (or a similar variation)

Our three bedroom apartments can accommodate Up to 4 Adults and 3 small children (or a similar variation)

What forms of payment do you accept? To make a reservation, we require a stand-alone credit card (no debit attached in any way). Once confirmed, we take the hassle out of making weekly payments by automatically charging your VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card every Monday.  You can request that weekly payments be processed on a debit card, if you prefer.

What makes you any different than the big guys? Well, if you put aside the huge price differences and the fact that we offer fully furnished apartments by the week in residential areas instead of expanded hotel rooms, then what truly makes us different is that we listen to you, our guests.  Our team, including the owner, answers each and every email personally. Try us!  Send a question or comment to us (like: “What is the address of your Beaverton location?”) and you will get a real response from an actual person.
